Biography

Edna Murdoch has been working internationally, with individuals and groups for over 30 years. She is an experienced coach, coach supervisor, stress management consultant, workshop leader and author. In these contexts, Edna has worked with a wide range of individuals and groups. Companies and organisations that she has worked for include DBM, Hanover Foundations, Sussex Police, Channel 4, Microsoft, NTL, PSNI and the Pellin Institute, Italy. Edna has special interest and expertise in working with clients in the mid-life transition and with those moving towards retirement.

In 2001 Edna pioneered the first Supervision-on-Call Service for coaches in the UK and she is a Founder and Director of The Coaching Supervision Academy (CSA).

CSA was established in 2001 and it provides CPD for coaches and trains Executive coaches and leaders in Coaching Supervision. CSA has trained over 400 executive coaches and leaders worldwide and currently runs an EMCC accredited/ICF approved coach supervision programme in UK, US, Singapore, Hong Kong, France and Australia. In her role as Course Director for CSA’s supervision programme, Edna creates course content, supervises students and mentors CSA’s international faculty.

Edna is an accrediteded coach supervisor with APECS. She trained for one year in psychodynamic supervision and for two years in creative supervision at the Centre for Transpersonal Psychology, London and has supervised psychotherapists, coaches and leaders since 1991 . She is now a global leader in the field of supervision and an ambassador for it. Her influence and in the early development of coaching supervision is considerable and she has had a key roles in shaping the practices and ensuring the standards of practice in supervision. CSA’s diploma in supervision is a unique and powerful learning experience and is a standard bearer for supervision training worldwide. Edna’s extensive background in education, psychotherapy and coaching has had a huge influence on this successful programme.

Her passion for learning and development is supplemented by a great sense of joy in creating learning experiences with those she supervsies. Humour is never far away in her work and that light touch in supervision sessions, often enables supervisees to share their work more truly and freely and it enables them to enter fully into a dialogue where profound learning can occur.

Biography

Miriam, co-founder of the Coaching Supervision Academy, co-designed CSA’s Diploma in Coaching Supervision. She has a long history of working with supervision in a variety of professional and business contexts including with senior managers and their teams, front line practitioners, psychotherapists and counsellors.

Miriam is CSA Executive Chair and a Senior Tutor on the CSA Coaching Supervision Diploma course, which is now in its eleventh year in the UK. This course is one of the leading training courses globally for coaches who wish to become supervisors; currently courses are running in the UK, France, Hong Kong, Singapore, Australia and the US.

Miriam Orriss has trained and worked in Personal Development and Management in the Public and Private sectors for 30 years. The common thread in her work, has been her connection with people and her belief that we are more that the sum of our parts.

In addition to her considerable skill base as a trainer, manager, supervisor and therapist, she has also trained as a Natural Spiritual Healer, Progressive Counsellor, and Executive Coach. Miriam was, for many years, an Associate with Full Potential Group, working as Supervisor and Coach for their senior clients. She also worked Body and Soul Solutions, and as a Business Consultant with Reeves Davis, supporting them in their work with Business Link.

Miriam is a pioneer in applying the principles of quantum physics, neuroscience and bio-field science, to the practice of supervision. Her unique understanding gives added precision and depth to supervision’s focus on living systems. These insights enable Miriam to work powerfully with supervisees and teams across the world. She refers to this aspect of her work as “Energy Management” and has written a number of papers on it. Miriam blends and applies these concepts to the theories and practice of TA. The merging of these ideas is unique in supervision and extends the understanding of who we are in our work and how, as human beings, we interact with each other and how we affect the systems in which we work. Her most recent paper, ‘The Energy in the Triangle’ forms the basis for her second presentation to the Oxford Brookes International Supervision Conferences.

Elaine is an international Master Executive Coach, Accredited Coaching Supervisor, and Writer and is also the Coaching Supervision Academy’s Director: Creative Development.

Elaine’s passion is to bring the energizing, creative and humanizing powers of coaching super-Vision to leaders, people professionals and development practitioners everywhere for courageous, compassionate, and ethical practice. Elaine’s vision is to bring our sense of our shared humanity and what it means to be human to every role, work conversation, consulting room or Boardroom to help connect to what truly matters, to create anew at the edge of continual change and to act with integrity in the world. Elaine uniquely focuses on both the practitioners’ own personal and professional development with the simultaneous human, cultural and strategic development of their teams, systems and organizations.

Elaine blends her own impressive leadership experience of leading the creative implementation of deep system wide transformational change in highly politicized complex organizations with her specialist training in executive coaching, supervision, psychological mindedness, systems thinking, organizational development, adult learning, resilience, and creativity. Elaine takes her inspiration from her love of the arts, history, meditation, writing, poetry, nature and nordic walking. Her practice is underpinned by her original MA peer reviewed research, which coined the phrase“Reflect to Create”. The research was a study into leaders experiences of reflection and reflective practices and is published in the journal of ‘Reflective Practice: International and Multidisciplinary Perspectives’.

Elaine’s accreditations include: Master Executive Coach with both the Association of Coaching and European Coaching and Mentoring Council; Coaching Supervisor with the Coaching Supervision Academy; and is qualified with an Advanced Certificate in Coaching and Mentoring (with Distinction), a Diploma in Coaching Supervision and Master of Arts. Elaine is an accredited Myers Briggs Type Indicator Step 1 Practitioner, a “Right Conversation” and an EQ (Emotional Intelligence) Bar-On Practitioner.
