What will you learn?

The importance of presence and relational presence – and the impact in the coaching and coaching supervision relationship

Process and structure of coaching supervision including: contracting, designing the working alliance, managing the process in sessions and across the contract, awareness of ‘field’ or context on the work, being alert to unconscious relational processes such as transference, projection and deference and much more.

How to manage the process of individual supervision and the basics of Group Supervision.

Understand energy management – applying the principles of quantum physics, neuroscience and mindfulness to coaching supervision, including managing strong emotions.

Utilise new lenses from which to view the relationship drawn from coaching psychology, Transactional Analysis, Gestalt, Transpersonal Psychology.

Gain an in-depth knowledge of the Full Spectrum Model, developed from decades of practice, reflection and refinement in the field. The model includes Hawkins and Smith’s 7 eyed model, Scharmer and Senge’s work on Presence and Theory U, Leadership Embodiment.

Latest developments in systems thinking.

Wide variety of tools for use in supervision sessions, for example Karpman Drama Triangle, Magic Box, two chair work, constellations, use of cards and other creative techniques, somatic and embodied wisdom and much more.

Development of the internal supervisor, reflective practitioner and use of self in supervision.

Costs

The cost will be $8,950.00 SGD

Early bird discount of 10% if booked by 30th June 2019

Participants will be expected to engage in 8 hours of “supervision of their supervision” with a CSA approved supervisor via phone or Skype; this will cost £1,200 GBP and is payable directly to the supervisor.

The CSA graduate community enjoy an internal Accreditation Scheme run by the International Centre for Reflective Practice (ICRP). There are many benefits including being part of a highly skilled and experienced community of coaching supervisors; reduced price entry to CPD events and retreats; inclusion in the website database of accredited supervisors.

Since 2005, CSA has trained over 400 people to become Coaching Supervisors. The largest group in the Graduate Community are Executive Coaches with more than 5 years’ experience. Other Graduates include business coaches, life coaches, pastoral supervisors, HR Directors and OD Professionals. The CSA approach is based on ‘who you are…is how you coach’

Course components

The program includes 7 days of face-to-face delivery split into 2 modules across 12 months. This study time enables learning to be fully integrated.

The students are accompanied through the program by a highly skilled team of professional Trainers and Tutors.

  • 7 days of training: Module 1 (4 days) and Module 2 (3 days)
  • 6 x 90 minute small group tutorial sessions
  • 9 x 1-hour Webinars
  • 8 x 1-hour ‘supervision of supervision’ sessions with approved supervisor
  • 8 x 2-hour practice sessions in peer triads
  • Regular reading from the mandatory Reading List and optional Reading List
  • Regular tracking of the student learning journey through Journal writing

Students will also undertake 25 hours of practice as a supervisor:

  • 5 x 1-hour supervision sessions with 5 supervisees (coaches) or 4 individual supervisees and 1 group

Towards the end of the course students will submit:

  • Learning Journal of 3000 words showing their personal learning and progress through the course
  • Case study of 5000 words based on one of 5 supervisees

An Observed Practice Assessment is completed during the 3rd module.

The final assessment process comprises of a portfolio of evidence including the written work (above) and markers reports; Tutor Report; Supervisor report; Programme Leader observations; Observed Practice Report.
